The Nursery

We have been growing herbs, here, for over twenty years and have gradually increased our range of stock so we now are able to offer over three hundred varieties of herbs and wild flowers. These range from common culinary herbs, which are reasonably easy to grow, through some of the more unusual medicinal herbs, which are harder to grow in the unforgiving Scottish climate, to the rare native plants for the keen plant collector. Grown 700' above sea level in the Scottish Highlands our plants are arguably the hardiest herbs available in Britain. We also have many herb and wildflower seeds for sale, and we canorder them, or suggest a stockist if, by chance, we do not have them in stock.

Due to our extensive range of quality plants our fame is spreading and customers from through out the UK return year after year, as well as customers from Ireland, France, Germany Holland, Italy, Spain and Scandinavia (and they are the ones we know about!) - proof enough that Brin is worth a visit! We also offer mail order through the summer months throughout the UK for those who can't make it to the nursery. We do not send plants abroad.

The display gardens show how many of the plants look when they mature and give a range of planting ideas, although they are functional and do not pretend to be highly manicured gardens as one might find in a municipal garden. Help and advice are readily available from our friendly and knowledgable staff.

At the nursery we also have the Schoolroom - one of the old classrooms. Call it what you will - Mini restaurant, Cafe, Tea Room - we serve fresh light meals using home grown and local produce, where possible. We also have a Fine Foods Shop stocking amongst other things, many local products including cheeses, free range chicken products, jams/jellies/chutneys and in season our own fresh herbs, salads, fruit and vegetables.
